Disinformation and propaganda in the COVID-19 context

01 May 2020

The global health emergency resulted from the rapid spread of COVID-19 has taken the world by surprise and found it vastly unprepared in containing and managing not only the health dimension of the pandemic but also the wave of disinformation, conspiracy theories and propaganda that have accompanied the outbreak. Disinformation is among the key factors in radicalisation processes and forms the basis of recruitment narratives that simplify reality and society in a “us vs. them” dimension.

As part of our efforts towards prevention of radicalisation, EFD works with a broad range of partners to address and counter this phenomenon. Activities include policy discussions, briefings with and for media and policymakers, training and grassroots engagement. View the EVENTS page for further details.
